i tried to make a rolling pin (5 boards/logs) and it kept telling me i don't have enough wood to make that. i have 31 in my pack right now, and plenty of skill to make it. None of the wooden items work but the rest of them are fine.

Is it only coloured wood you have? I don't recall how far I ever went with implementing the coloured wood, it might be looking specifically for regular wood. It may have to be in logs or in boards specifically. Try both regular logs and boards to see if it makes a difference.
