Even though the architecture is something we are very familiarwith having been in love with it since its release last year, the newCore i7-3xxx series offers up to 6-cores and 12 threads of processingpower with an increase to 15MB of L3 cache. The additional cores helpthe new CPUs push past the current generation Sandy Bridge parts inhighly-threaded applications while maintaining the power efficiencythat has, in part, made Sandy Bridge so popular.
