I have really grown to like the Foxconn G33M-S a lot. It's a goodlooking board with an excellent feature set and has proven to be extremelyreliable. The integrated Intel chipset will more than satisfy your basicgraphics needs like surfing the web, checking email, and even some lightgaming. However if you're looking for a bit more graphics power you can addany PCI-e graphics card and really unleash this m-ATX powerhouse. Do like Idid and add an 8800 series graphics card, a couple gig of memory and adecent Core 2 Duo CPU and you'll have a stable and powerful small formfactor system that packs a punch.

Today I've got a very feature rich Micro ATX motherboard fromGigabyte, it's based off of the Intel G33 Bear Lake chipset, it's gottons of features with full support for the latest CPUs and even HDaudio and video support as well for those who might want to use it fora higher end HTPC setup, or just a nice gaming rig. It truly is a very capableboard, from my tests it easily holds it's own up against the latestofferings from Nvidia...

Intel's platform design has usually been behind that of the ret ail market, Intel's onboard graphics are quite basic and can't really handle much in the way of 3D applications; not to mention they're also a a memory hog, stealing as much bandwidth as possible. With the Intel 3 series chipsets, things have changed; thanks to Vista ne w features are required to get a motherboard certified for Vista validati on, and Intel is definitely one to strive for this. The G33 chipset is th e latest instalment from Intel, and it's designed for the Vista environ ment using its onboard graphics system, the GMA3100.
