Posted by Red Squirrel on August 12th 2004 The Tech Zone compares a hi-speed Sandisk Ultra CF to a generic brand to see if the name brand is worth the extra money. I think most of us pay good money to buy the toys that we like to play with. In this case, my Canon G3 is one of these favorite toys. While shopping for lens filters, I took notice of some of these interestingly marketed "Professional" memory cards that promise "Faster Read and Write Speeds", and some variation of "(Insert number)X Times Performance". Since I like taking pictures of moving objects, like cars, bikes and people, I decided to invest in one of these hoping that this would reduce the wait time between shots while the images write to memory.
