| sorry but i don't see any thing you said was broken that you needed help on? so it must be the fact your system was in need of a good cleaning? glad you got it fixed. |

| thanks i got it. but i also got the ccleaner slim with no toolbar v2.09 from majorgeeks.com found just the registry defragmenter at snapfiles.com so you can get just it if you don't want to get the regscrubvistaxp program. |

| 4.5 is available for direct download http://www.stevengould.org/index.php?optio...d=80&Itemid=254 I have never had this delete something it shouldn't have. It works good as a portable app too. Here's a good reg cleaner that does no harm too--just skip the register nag box when it opens http://www.eusing.com/free_registry_cleane...try_cleaner.htm |

| I might peep over the fence at it. But if I see a list of stuff for removal, I'm not sure I would know what to get rid of. If Windows takes 20 minutes to boot, that's easy to fix with my XP cd...as much as I hate that job. |

your welcome, this was a really great surprise for me I've been using the old one for years. it was fast and simple to use, but never found anything like this version did. and i bet like mine each one will find something just after you ran the last cleaner? hey wren the safest cleaner you can get to use would be the cleaner by Steven Gould it is at. http://cleanup.stevengould.org/ now when you get it. there is something you need to know. look around the site, get the version 3.5 there. but then get the updated version 4 which should also be there. for some reason it looks like you need to install 3.5 first and then 4. i think 3.5 has files that 4 does not. since 4 is mainly a patch for an error in 3.5 but get them both. then use its demo mode which is just a scan that does not clean out anything. it just finds all the stuff in the system and shows you how much junk it can find. only it has no automated graphic to show you its searching, it just stops changing the text, and looks like it froze, but if you look in the status line you will see if it is done or if it is still looking in a directory. when its finished with the demo look through the list and see what you want to keep. then you can put them in the option to keep list. then run the cleaner in real mode and get rid of the other junk. of course this cleaner won't find all the regscrubvistaxp will find. but it is the best one for use that is the safest one to use. the best cleaner out there that cleans everything is Ncleaner, but people did not know how to use it and let it clean out all the files it found. which caused trouble with different systems. in the ncleaner it is a must that you set up which files it can remove. and then you close it down after you run it i never let a cleaner run in the background, its too dangerous to do that. |

Thanks, I was looking for this and couldn't remember the name. I think I have like 5 or 6 registry cleaners now. |

Fine, you dirty boy--then, when XP takes 20 minutes to boot, don't complain! |

| No thanks, I'll just have to keep a dirty registry. |

| i found an updated version of the regscrubxp one. sure its been out for awhile but i just found it. the name is " RegScrubVistaXp " once again i found it on majorgeeks.com i have 4 other registry cleaners on this system, i use them almost daily, and yet. when i installed this new one it found 600 errors hidden in the deep files resgistry, i have not seen a deep file scanner for the registry before so it seems like a new scan. but that put it on my list of things to use all the time now. |
