That might of been mine actually.  http://www.uovalor.com/forum does that. It actually DOES work. Spammers are just THAT stupid. Its like those kindergarden things "circle the object thats different" and you have two squares and a circle. Spammers can't figure that out. |

| i never thought of it like that, thats a really good idea. I did see on another forum, (cant remember which) they used 3 of the php generated random image validators for their registration. I wonder if that worked. PS i finally got my sig working again.  I strongly dont recomend surrpass hosting to anyone, they will actually edit your code and swear they didnt. |

| Yeah its freaken ridiculous. But in a way its good news it means our battle against spammers through email is working, and we, as normal people, are winning. Now to work on forum based anti spam systems. I think what would be a great idea is something like RBLs but for forums. When I finally finish SBBS I should setup some kind of forum based RBL system. Perhaps look into what it takes to create a RFC and actually make it a standard. Then forum systems like vB could implement it too. |

| what gives, it seems like every forum on the net is having this problem. Is there a fix for this? I had to disable the forum registration on my mothers website because of people spaming it with porn and sex drugs. Keep in mind this is a forum for retired women who make clothes for their grand kids. |

| Yeah I get tons of those random character names per day, those ones don't actually post stuff half the time, they just register to register, I don't really understand why. But I'll ban that particular one as a precaution. |

| I'll probably re open it in a few days. There just seems to be a sudden huge influx on spammers lately. This is everywhere, not sure here. |

| We are being mass bombarded by idiotic no-brain educationless spammers so as a temporary fix I have disabled new registrations. If you want to register just send me an email and I can create you an account. |
