Hey red it looks like this is the same type of program i have already i still have to mount the virtural drive to use the files on it?

i just want to use the virtural drive as a virtual install drive where i install the programs and then start the games from the desktop icon like is done now. is that possible?

Find Alchohol 120%. It makes a virtual CD-ROM drive that you can attach ISOs to and it acts as if the cd is in, only, you never need to put the cd in. Great for when you don't, AHEM, have the cd. wink.gif

where do i find that at?

Take a look at daemon tools. ISO buster does the same job too I think. You'll need a program like nero to burn the CD to an iso first though.

I am wanting to know how to make a virtural hard drive.

as in telling the computer to make a folder and use it as a perment hard drive.

i am tired of having to find the right cdrom just to play a stupid game.

so i want to have a virtural drive so i can copy the contents of the cdrom in to that virtural drive and install it from there never again using the cdrom drive just to play the game.

i have a program from 2003 that will create v hd's from a folder but it wont make them perment. i have to recreate them each time i reboot.

i also have a cdrom copy program that makes an image of the cdrom's and keeps them in a folder but i have to start that program and load it's virt hd with its cdrom image. which means i have an extra program running taking up ram.
and that still involes the same number of steps as putting the real cdrom in the computer.

so having a virt hd that i can use to install games from that need the cdrom is the answer but i can make it perment can some one here tell me or can you do an article on how it is done?

thanks. xyxthumbs.gif
