| You'll have to find a wol application where you enter the mac address and it sends a special packet to the machine which does a wake on lan. It works with some computers, does not work with others (even if they support it). I never played with it too much though. You seem to get good luck if it's a built on card, it seems. |

| hey mate:can i get some help on setting up wake on lan. i have a netgear network adaptor(with wol) installed in my desktop except for the wire which on the motherboard there was no place to plug in(so the company told me to just leave it)i have a ipaq with terminal services and remote desktop all set-up and functioning.desktop runs windows xp pro.so what do i need to download software to wake my desktop anyplace with my handheld ipaq? jack |
