Yeah you might as well follow the advice mentioned for removing it, and make sure the file is gone. (make sure it's backed up just in case). Sounds like some kind of nuisance spyware/virus or something.

ok on another help site called the tech guy. there is a long post of how to get rid of this file and where it comes from. which in short is the logitech desktop manager or the backweb programs. you have to get rid of it either by turning off the programs that use it in the msconfig or going in to safe mode and doing ad aware scann or you might beable to get rid of it by letting ad aware run at system start up before the programs are started so it can get rid of it then. how ever i just talked to my sister and she said it let her type in the templates last night. and it only started once to try and mess it up, then was stopped. so that tells me you can beable to rem it out in the config file and it will stop it when it trys to start. which is good.

not sure but it might be one of the files for backweb run by hp. or one for logitec mouse. either way it is not needed since it is messing up. am thinking about trying to get it out through the dos delete way but my sister defines the meaning of dumb blonde. she does not know that much about these things. i had to walk her through how to show and hide the hidden files on the computer. i thought that was bad but when she said the hidden windows folder would not show her the files only a white screen and she could not get in to the folder i nealy fainted. to be fair though she is doing this while trying to run the house with 2 kids one of which just turned 13, then there are 3 or 4 cats and 2 or 3 dogs. and she has the clothes washer running. plus other incoming calls on the phoneline. sounds like a mad house and your right makes me do this all the time but will try to get more info on this.

remembered i forgot to say what it is sorry. it is not removed by norton so it is not a virus or worm that they know of they cant even find anything on their web site about it. the file is on an hp winxp computer. it is idahide3.dll

Do you know where the file is located exactly? Try deleting it in dos. It's most likely some kind of spyware/virus. Do a full virus scan as well.

sisters hp has this file and when she uses any templetes in word or corel it starts to fill in unwanted text and acts like a ghost writer making up strange and unknown stories. ad aware can find it and says its spyware but cant remove it. cant use the right click and delete on it either. i did get her to rem it in the config system but not sure if it is even working. how do you get rid of the peice of ..&&%%$##@@.
