Software and Hardware -> Spare Parts

Oh yeah I got two PSUs, one is in working condition (but I leetched off the FAN tongue.gif ) and the other is well, I doubt it will get you anywhere. I took off the capacitors and used them for something else. tongue.gif

It was an emachine one, those catch on fire a lot, so I would not trust one. It was a friend who gave it to me since he was throwing it out (I like opening these type of things) and the chip was black at some places. I got this cool shock if I touched the top of both capaticors. It felt weird, it went from one finger to the other. laugh.gif

I got memory... Kingston 256MB Dimm 168-pin-SDRAM -100 MHz- ECC.

64MB IBM Thinkpad memory

A monitor which will be donated to charity.

Red Squirrel - May-25-2003 server time
I got 3 486 cases here. tongue.gif Some have working parts and some don't work. I've playing around too much, I'd have to rebuild from scratch if I wanted a working one. tongue.gif

Thank you for the info. I found one on the net that was priced at 529.00 with one of those numbers. There is a barcode number too:
5015389018263

The package has a date, FEB00.

Trying to read through the ESD shield bag, don't want to handle it any more than I have to. tongue.gif

fishyfool - Apr-17-2003 server time
it would be worth it to try. give or take 300.00 should be wholesale on that module.
i wouldn't expect much if any more for it.
BTW it's a server module, not a workstation module. sorry for the misrepresentation.
to research it google these key words, "p/n MX6986A" AND "46126c"
without the quotes.

fishy, my son works for a property management firm in the maintenance dept. A company folded and left a lot of things behind. After a time, the employees can take what they want. I tried to research it but could not find any info since I didn't know what to look for anyway. I have some RAM also. The module had never been out of the package. I opened it to get the pic. I'm glad to know what it is, maybe I should list it on ebay.

Ok, here is the mystery part in question.

where in the hell did you get that 512mb Celestica/Sun Netra Mezzanine Module ???
you know if that thing works, it's worth about 300 dollars!!!
of course you have to know someone with a sun workstation to use it....

wldkos - Mar-02-2003 server time
that would be very interesting.

Red Squirrel - Feb-24-2003 server time
Yeah could be, but those are floppy IDE's though, I guess I can have raid with floppies if I want. roflmao.gif

http://www.reliexec.dynu.net/inventory/thingamajig.jpg

hey red, the first link seems to be a port for 2 more ide cables. Don't quote me on that, but it seems that if you run out of room on your mobo and ide cables, you might be able to plug that in and run another 2-5 ide hdd's.

That's just an idea though, i don't think that I am right.

rovingcowboy - Feb-20-2003 server time
that looks like a extra board of ram?? it is not what i was thinking though.

but there the 3 white slots that hold gray cables on it there. so it might be a card for doing a raid system. or for use with speical ibm stuff.

Ok, here is the mystery part in question. laugh.gif

rovingcowboy - Feb-20-2003 server time

Wren - Feb-20-2003 server time
Guess you really can't call mine spare parts since I couldn't use them if needed...won't work on my system. rolleyes.gif

Chris Vogel - Feb-20-2003 server time
I have no spare parts. sad.gif

Wren - Feb-20-2003 server time
I looked up the price on those 2 big Kingston sticks some time back, they were $75 each.

Red Squirrel - Feb-20-2003 server time
yeah ram is pretty expensive. It was cheap before but it went up in price quite a while back unfortunatly.

Wren - Feb-20-2003 server time
I could take pics but didn't want to remove these from the anti static packaging. I had to handle them very carefully to read the numbers under a magnifier. Those Kingston 256 memory sticks are expensive. I think all this stuff came from IBM pcs.

Red Squirrel - Feb-20-2003 server time

Kingston 256MB (2)

Kingston 64MB (1)

Samsung 64MB SDRAM (1)

Got a 4" square black thing that I don't have any idea what it is! rolleyes.gif

These were given to me and from the source, I don't think they were ever used. smile.gif

Red Squirrel - Feb-19-2003 server time
lol yeah it's a mess in there. I once was conducting an experiment, no wait, I was installing Windows, on a 486 and it was closed for the night, I came back and there was a big cob web from the PSU to the my fan (that mean one I made) because the PC was tipped over and the fan was directed at the PSU... half way through the win98 install I realized there was no fan in the PSU, AFTER burning myself on the case lol. I was worse when I was a kid, that mess would be foil paper that looks innocent but is really a few AC phases of active current. unsure.gif

Tom_C - Feb-19-2003 server time
