Sorry to make my first post a link, but I hope you will forigve me as it is not to anything commercial, but to some useful IMHO benchmarks I have been running on mfc.

In testing string concatenation, did you use the "+" operator to concatenate std::string objects, or std::stringstream?

Welcome to the forum, it's ok that you posted a link as long as it's not a pure advertisement. I don't care what the 13 year old did to the horse and I don't need a second mortgage. tongue.gif

That's quite interesting. I use to program mfc but did not like it so I went back to normal win32... but I have not done c++ in a while now that most of my projects are php. But you can't really compare php with C++ since they are for two different things.

A do a lot of php as well, though in that field I don't consider myself expert enough to start writing articles yet. If it is ok to post links I may post a few more to some of the bits and bobs I have written on mfc etc. I hope to generate a little discussion here and there on the issues I raise, as some of the results I got were well off kilter on what you might expect.

MFC/Stl benchmarks

The results certainly gave me food for thought!
