Medical Data Processing Lab -> What is everyone using in this war on Cancer

Actually I have to sleep WITH the fans on, I find I sleep better that way, and it blocks off my dad's grunting and moaning before he starts to snore. I don't have enough fans to block his snoring though so I try to fall asleep before it starts.

zacuke - Nov-28-2004 server time
athlon xp 2500 (1.83ghz)
It was overclocked to xp 3200 (2.2ghz) but my new room doesnt have good enough A/C, so i have to run at the advertised clock speed

my comps always on: bittorrent is a good thing, and so is helping cancer research. I used to run a rc5 cracking client years ago, but I had forgetton about distributed computing since then

sometimes I can't deal with the noise it makes, and i turn it off to sleep, my next box MUST be quiet (preferably water cooled)

C-well - Jul-29-2004 server time
all is well

little to no damage

quick fix

still building the alien smasher, lol

a tri-celeron, with dual electric fans, and a few other surprises.

It's been real fun!

pics to come by mid august, hopefully

All those computers alienz and no picture?
Don't make me crack the whip in here!

Red Squirrel - Jul-09-2004 server time
Man that must suck, is everything ok now? (insurance wise etc...)

C-well - Jul-09-2004 server time
Well not much change since my last post,
except for a living room fire. But other than that all is good.

Any picture of the computer Brandon?

brandon - Jun-20-2004 server time
AMD AthlonXP 2600+ Tbred B, 2.08Ghz

256MB PC3200 DDR400 SDRAM

40GB HD, 563MB used

C-well - Jun-16-2004 server time
I'll be away for awhile, I'm building a monster computer. Uses the fans from a ford focus to cool it down. I'm determined to cure cancer no matter what.
Or at least the hickups, LOL

Red Squirrel - Jun-10-2004 server time
lol! It's been to many DoS attacks though, not targetted ones, but worns. The sql slammer, the code red etc.... but I ran apache so those did not affect the site. I used to have to pull the plug on the server when I got home from school since it would freeze like win98 on a clunker tends to do.

sintekk - Jun-10-2004 server time
I'm glad I wasn't around when the site was hosted on that clunker laugh.gif
I may of never came back tongue.gif

Red Squirrel - Jun-10-2004 server time
My parants had an 8 Meg ATI video card... it barely ran sim city... well that whole computer barely ran anything laugh.gif I used to host iceteks on that thing, it was a workstation + server..... man we had so much problems then! random parse errors, slow mysql etc... I don't miss it.

Wren - Jun-10-2004 server time
It's old. tongue.gif

sintekk - Jun-10-2004 server time
I don't think my printers would want to be anywhere near a computer with THAT video card tongue.gif

Wren - Jun-10-2004 server time
Well, it wasn't exactly set up for a gaming machine. laugh.gif It was a printer server.

sintekk - Jun-10-2004 server time
QUOTE (Wren @ Jun 10 2004, 09:42 PM)
Rage IIC AGP 3D video card.

scared.gif
Good thing you don't play games on that comp... right? pressanykey.gif

Wren - Jun-10-2004 server time
The long card on the bottom is a PCB plug-in video. The card above that is a Rage IIC AGP 3D video card. blink.gif

Hard to get between the cards with a flashlight and a magnifier. banghead.gif

C-well - Jun-10-2004 server time
???
I'd hope not 2.7 should have 512mb at least.

wldkos - Jun-10-2004 server time
2.7ghz
256mb pc 400 ram (?)

Red Squirrel - Jun-10-2004 server time
probably a 1 meg video card. laugh.gif I have one like that, but it's longer.

C-well - Jun-10-2004 server time
What is the PCI card on the bottom? It's huge.

C-well - Jun-10-2004 server time
The jumpers are on the motherboard, usually lower right but on that one who knows. lol
I'll get a picture if I can.

Red Squirrel - Jun-09-2004 server time
Yeah it's kind of odd how it's made. I've seen worse though... My parant's old PC had the PSU right in front of the processor!

Wren - Jun-09-2004 server time
laugh.gif You're the second person who thought the pc is upside down. That's the way it was made. When I got it I thought everything looked backward from what you normally see. blink.gif

Where are the jumpers? I don't know a thing about what I'm trying to do but maybe I'll learn something. pressanykey.gif

C-well - Jun-09-2004 server time
Aside from being upside down (i think?), it looks pretty stable.
I'm guessing PC133 sdram for the memory.

Now if I can get the nut myster to make a collage of our cpu's.
He's been pretty busy lately though.
Might end up being a lot of work.
I have a picture I made mine look like part of a 5000 lb. bomb.
lot of time on my hands lately

Wren - Jun-08-2004 server time
This is the old server.

Wren - Jun-08-2004 server time
Here's the pic. wink.gif

Chris Vogel - Jun-08-2004 server time
  • 1.6 GHz Pentium 4 (No overclocking)
  • 608 MB of available PC2100 RAM
  • 30GB hard drive (14.3GB free)
Those are my specs, or at least my specs that matter to this project. smile.gif No chance of a picture of my computer, but it is an HP Pavilion 511w. smile.gif

C-well - Jun-08-2004 server time
Pics of your computer that you are using for UD.
dancingbanada.gif

Wren - Jun-07-2004 server time
What kind of pics?

I see the Takster is signed in. smile.gif

C-well - Jun-07-2004 server time
Should be able to reset password by rearranging the jumpers on the motherboard, it's been awhile since I've seen that model though.
(J4 stands out in my mind)
Any pictures Wren?

Haven't heard from Tak in awhile......

Wren - Jun-07-2004 server time
I'm running a P4 2.53 with a gig of RAM. Got an old P 450 (IC CPU) that was used as a printer server using NT 4.0. Not sure on the memory, pulled one stick but derned if I can tell what it is. tongue.gif It has a 4G hdd, not sure if I need to put 95 or 98 on it or if that's even possible. blink.gif Can't get into it as it's password protected. rolleyes.gif

Red Squirrel - Jun-07-2004 server time
Yeppers!

In fact, once I get some UV lights in there, it will be able to kill germs. em320.gif

sintekk - Jun-07-2004 server time
The shinier it is, the quicker the cancer cells die em320.gif

Red Squirrel - Jun-07-2004 server time
Here's what I use:

AMD 2700+ (mobo only sees it as 2100+ though)

http://www.iceteks.com/forums/show.php/sho...view/getnewpost

The lights and fans make it faster. tongue.gif

sintekk - Jun-07-2004 server time
You don't want to see it ph34r.gif
I only have one device installation now, used to have some others set up, but couldn't spend the time keeping them going sad.gif

C-well - Jun-07-2004 server time
Doesn't sound bad at all. Especially since you're about to be in the top ten for results.
So how do you have all the device installations set-up, are some old like with red's?

Got a picture of the duron demon?

sintekk - Jun-07-2004 server time
Using a 1.2ghz duron sad.gif
256 mb
But at least I just got a new motherboard, so I have room to upgrade em320.gif

C-well - Jun-06-2004 server time
I'm just curious as to what everyone is using in this fight.
Plus, being an electrician in the military who has access to auctions once a month,
If there is something you need I just might be able to get it. Especially memory.

I'm currently running one computer that was three, I got tired of all the space it was taking on the carrier, where space is at a premium.

Pentium 4 - 2.53GHZ
512MB memory

anyway - just a thought
