| First, welcome to the forum! Second, I don't update windows, so I can't help unfortunatly. I've never ran windows update ever (exept for that one time I did and it screwed up win98) and never had problems. But you have to use a firewall otherwise known security holes are there. A router blocks most of these security holes as well. Hope someone can help you out though... windows can be frustrating when it starts "lying" to you like that. |

| W2K PC and when trying TO INSTALL the MDAC patch from Windows Update, the PC states that it installed it, but when I scan my PC it states that I still have that one patch left to install over and over again. Can someone please help... |
