Basically what a contest like this would come down to would be spamming usenet, message boards, guestbooks, and whatnot with the addy, though. So it would kinda be a spam to be spammed contest?

Yeah. I know there are some, but they are hard to find. Usually they have limits on how often you can check, and they put ads in the emails etc but for this purpose that does not matter. Usually they automaticly subscribe you to a bunch of junk, so that would be a head start. It needs to be pop3 so that you can download the mail, otherwise it would fill up in no time, especially hotmail.

Spam contest huh? *opens up a new hotmail account* I win Personally I think it'd be kinda hard to find pop3 email provider without a limit unless you want to shell out major cash.

Ok, here's some fun for everyone! Let's have a spam competition. We don't spam people, we get spammed. The goal of the compatition is to wind up with the most emails by the end of a given period. We all open an email account from a pop3 email provider, and try to get as much spam as possible. We have to all open it from the same provider though, to make it more valid (sometimes they opt you in mailing lists and stuff). This is basically an honesty thing, you just have to be honest the whole way about how many emails you really are receiving. I just want to see how many people are interested, and if so, I'll set a special date that we start, and a date that we end, and whoever has the most spam email wins. There's no official prize though, this is just for fun. Maybe the prize can be Also, if anyone has ideas for a free pop3 provider (or a web based that does not have a limit) list it here and we can decide on what is best. pop3 is probably the best way to go, and you just setup an account in your client and make the mail go in some folder or something.
